Catching up...

This is me and Amy in front of the Pentagon. The area behind us is the area that was hit by the airplane on 9-11. This is an example of how the benches at the 9-11 Memorial are made. Each bench represents each person that died on that day. On the end of the bench is a name. If you are standing in front of the name to read it and your facing the Pentagon- that person perished in the Pentagon. If you stand and read the name and face away from the Pentagon- that person perished in the plane. The benches are in order from youngest to oldest. The youngest was 3. There were 5 children (age 11) that were on a trip from this area headed to CA for a field trip. They are all grouped together- then there's a huge gap to the next age and then it goes on up to the oldest which was 71. Under the benches is a reflecting pool. At night- it lights up. More info on the memorial can be found on the internet- you should search and read more about it. This photo is a pic of the 9-11 Memorial at the Pentagon.

It's been a week since I posted so I'm here to catch up.
My long time friend of 24 yrs flew into town to stay with me for a week. Her son- which is the same age as Jaima- had an educational event for a week with a group here in DC. He stayed at the hotel with that group so we were CHILDLESS (until mine came home in the afternoon from school.) We hopped on the metro once day and made a trip into DC. Two of the days- we were able to go into DC with Jamie. He went off to work as we hopped on the metro from Crystal City to tour DC. One day he took us on a tour of the Pentagon. It was neat- then we went out to the 9-11 Memorial that just opened up at the Pentagon. It was very moving. The memorial was designed with lots in detail. I'll share info on that later... It has been so long since we've been able to visit with eachother. It seems like when I go home I have all my family to visit in such a short time- so we never get to spend time together. I was so thankful we got the opportunity to visit for a whole week. Thanks AMY for coming up to see me!

The football game didn't go too well so we got CLOBBERED AGAIN! I have photos of the game but not to share this time. I have to get a video uploaded so you can see Cody in action-

The weather has been so nice- fall has arrived.
