"Really Awesome God- I'll explain just hang on and let me start here...
Jaima went on this hike about a month ago with the youth group to OLD RAG MOUNTAIN. She came home all excited and with some awesome photos that I posted on here recently. When I shared with her on Sunday that Jamie and I were going on a hike to Old Rag Mountain with some friends- she was soooo excited for us!!! We took off after we got them off to school. The drive was just beautiful with the fall foliage- farms to die for- and just the site of NOOOOOOOOOOO CITY LIFE felt so good. We arrive at the mountain and start the 6-7 mile hike up. I won't lie- it was a challenge for me but NOPE I would not admit one bit that I needed a rest- now I won't say I didn't moan and groan. We stop at the open overlook views to take it all in- bright yellow and orange foliage every where. We reach what is called the "rock scramble" area... it was just awesome the walkway through all these humungo boulders (yes I just made up that word!) Actually, it wasn't a WALKWAY- we had to climb and use muscles we never knew we had. Mission accomplished- then we cont. our trip to the summit- once we reached the top... it was just breathtaking! Words cannot describe the beauty of what we seen. We took it all in- grabbed some photo shots- then headed down. As we were coming down, we wondered just how do they come up with a name for a mountain? After getting to the summit- taking it all in- it is obvious why this mountain is called Old RAG Mountain.. Rag standing for Really Awesome God! It's days like these- views like we seen- birds soaring in the sky- that make you stop and realize just how AWESOME God is!! Thanks Alecia and Daryl for asking us to go on this hike... it was AWESOME!!!
