After church- we hopped in the van and headed northwest. First stop was an orchard farm. There were a whole'lotta apple trees and a huge pumpkin patch that we had to take a hike out to. The kids found them a pumpkin- ok maybe 5 pumpkins and some small ghords- then we made our way back to the car. I didn't take my camera on the hike but after arriving in the pumpkin patch- I wish I had. The pumpkin patch was in this field surrounded by beautiful colored trees. Not to mention the memory I could have captured of the kids hiking back with 5 pumpkins in their arms- needless to say that Jamie and I ended up with some in our arms b/f the hike was over.
Back into the van and off to the next farm. We came upon this farm with lots of chickens- 800 to be exact. The kids have never been really close to chickens so here we were surrounded by many chickens. They got to go into the chicken coup and pick out their own eggs. There were also turkeys- yes they raise turkey's on this farm then sell them for Thanksgiving Day- they were all already sold and awaiting their day for delivery. Poor things had no clue what lied ahead for them as they stroll around on that farm. It was a nice-brisk fall day. We made our way back home with 5 pumpkins and some small ghords- the pics I did capture are from the animal farm. Hope you enjoy.
