Seeing God answer prayers...

Jamie has gone back to work and the kids are settling in. C has 4-6 boys his age in the neighborhood that he stays outside all day with or inside playing the PS... he's in Heaven. I'm really thankful b/c that was one of my many prayers I had for the kids as we made our move. We went to worship on Sunday for the first time. It was great. Everyone was so welcoming. J found out that she will be a part of the youth group so she's very excited. In fact, I was handed a calendar of events for the summer. They have devos every Sunday night after worship- so she stayed for that lastnight and met 6 girls that are her age. They also started a girls bible study on Mondays for the summer. She went today and really enjoyed it. She met up with the same girls and even met some more. She was saying by this afternoon that she couldn't wait until Wed night to see the friends she met today. They have movie, putt-putt, and ice cream on Thurs. So yes-her calendar is marked up already for the summer. This is going to be great for her spiritual growth- she was baptized last Dec. and it seems like she focuses everyday to be the Christain God wants her to be. It truly is a blessing- God does answer prayers.
As for myself...I've been unpacking and unpacking and unpacking! The boxes are all out of the house finally, furniture situated, and rooms together- well some of them- the ones we use at least. I'm working on refinishing some furniture for my guest rooms- so that's a work in progress. I also thought I'd paint my breakfast table and that has been a mess but I can't wait to get it finished. It seems like it's all coming together. I've started hanging things on the walls and even curtains. I did actually dust some today. I had to- I couldn't stand it any longer. I usually don't do any kind of cleaning in my house until I'm all settled and do it all at once. The house was cleaned b/f our stuff arrived but I have no clue why I had that done b/c it was a mess come the day after the boxes were brought in. I'm looking forward to having it clean once again. I should get pictures posted soon for those of you requesting to see some. We're also waiting on approval to start our deck and fence in our yard. It's an HOA thing. Pain in the butt but I'm so thankful we have an HOA...
Today I was in J's room and she has this large window across the back of the house- there was a deer standing there- it was so cute. It felt good seeing that deer b/c I thought we wouldn't have any opportunities to see wildlife where we live. We actually seen 3 today.

Well, it looks like we're hanging around VA for the 4th so if anyone is willing and able to come visit... give us a ring or email us- we'd love to have ya.

SO now I'm off to bed- just wanted to post. Until next time...

Packing and unpacking are such a chore. Although, if you put it off they can also be like Christmas morning. Ha! Why just the other day I came across a box I realized we had packed in Bakersfield over 10 years ago. Yes, I probably should have taken it straight to the Salvation Army without looking at the contents, but you know how that goes.
We're having our annual 4th of July bash again this year. We are hoping to top the 100 mark. 88 is the high so far. That's not temparature, that's number of people blessing our home as we celebrate the our nation's independance. You've seen the size of our home, so please pray for warm weather in order that we can enjoy some of the great NW outdoors.
Glad to hear all are settling in.
Blessings to you in Christ-

Lane.
