Especially when you live in Washington state. It's never dry here that's for sure. Let me explain how last minute decision makers we are... Yesterday was a holiday- you all know that- no school and Jamie doesn't have to work. We- of course slept in until about 10ish... I got ready to run to the mall after lunch. Well, the whole family decided to go so off we go until we get to the end of the road we live off of and notice what a clear day it is. Immediately I'm oohing and ahhing over the gorgeous snow capped mountains all around us. We may be lucky to see the Olympic Mountains located to the west of us but to see Seattle with all the Cascade Mountains behind it, Mt. Baker, and Mt. Rainier crystal clear in the winter is a blessing! I immediately said "forget the mall- turn the van around, let's go grab our snow/winter gear, and head down to Mt. Rainier." I was so excited- let me just tell you. Visiting Mt. Rainier b/f I left this area was definately on my list but I thought that would have to be later this spring time. It's so frigid cold and hardly ever clear to visit in the winter time...anyway it takes us around 2hrs to get there and oh my goodness. Words can't describe the beauty. I posted a few photos to pop out there at ya but the rest you'll have to click on the link and go watch the slideshow of all 68. This mountain is about 100 miles away from our home. 14,100something feet above sea level, and around 20something glaciers all around it. The roads were ok once we got into the park but you'll see in the slideshow the amount of snow on the side of the road. Check out the photo of the road sign and the height of the snow compared to it. The kids enjoyed playing on this huge snow pile/hill. The wind was so strong and air frigid AND Oh my goodness- we got to see the sunset so check those photos out! I hope you enjoy watching the slideshow... just click on the link to the right named Mt. Rainier, WA Enjoy...

you should really think about landscape photography. My fav is the moon over the trees with the purple sky. I love seeing that here. I just have not had my camera ready when it happens! ARGH!
