Wow...this trip is so long. So far around 2800 miles and about 900 more to go. We are having a good trip and loving the scenery here in the west. We made it to Cody, WY Tues night, checked into a room and was advised that the eastern entrance to Yellowstone was closed due to forest fires. We had a cabin until Fri night not 3 miles from that entrance SO that completely changed everything I had planned for us in Yellowstone. I was lucky to get my refund for the cabin and we moved towards the northeastern entrance. It took us 1hour 30min to get to that entrance from Cody. We got into the park and I tell you what-if you've not made a trip to the west then it should be on your list of things to do b/f you die. There aren't enough words to describe the beautiful scenery that we have drove through for the last 3days. Even the wonderful pics I have captured do no justice at all. Speaking of pics...I know I've had a lot of friends and family anxious to see them but I have to be honest with you I'm just as anxious to share them but by the time I check into a room at night it's so late. I get online long enough to see if Jamie has emailed me and then shoot him one. That's why I haven't posted any more since the last. I want to share them b/c they are awesome. We've seen so many different kinds of wildlife and you know me...UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. I got the best shot of an bull elk with one heck of a rack on his head. I always joke Jamie that his deer head isn't going on my walls but man I think I'd have to let something like that go on the wall if he got that kind of rack. Can't wait to share them with you all. When I have them ready you know I'll let you all know. We made it to this town in MT right b/f the Idaho line. Our eyeballs were saying "rest me!" We got off and of course what do ya know...there are forest fires up the interstate and all the families in the area were evacuated. Where to? This town so finding a hotel was not easy. I've had this trip planned with reservations all the way up to this Sat night when we were suppose to be leaving Yellowstone headed for Spokane, WA so NO I didn't plan on stopping at an exit where there were very little availability on this Thurs night-AND we can't just check into any hotel b/c we have two dogs. Well, please do keep checking back with this blog and I'll give more details of our trip to Yellowstone and the beautiful trip through the Rockies when I can share with the pics. Thanks to all of our friends and family who are keeping us in prayer. I'm running low on energy but I'm gonna make it. "One day at a time!" I have a bracelet with that saying on it and that's exactly how I live my life. Off to rest my eyeballs...goodnight!
